There are no poor minds... Only poor opportunities...

KidsFest is a non-profit organization committed to helping bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots amongst Canada's children. Through education, we provide the building blocks necessary for elementary aged children to break the vicious cycle of generational poverty.

 In 1989, sixteen years ago, the House of Commons unanimously resolved to “seek to achieve the goal of eliminating poverty among Canadian children by the year 2000.” Today, more than one million children, or almost 1 child in 6, still live in poverty in Canada . In Ontario alone, the rate of child poverty has increased 41%, to 1 in every 5 (390,000), with the average depth of poverty up by 11%.

With these alarming statistics and no viable solutions coming from the government sector, retired CFL player Brian Warren founded KidsFest Canada in 2000. The organization is committed to a simple comprehensive " Pathway of Hope " for Canada 's most vulnerable citizens through its education-based programs. KidsFest is dedicated to building into the lives of young Canadians who live below the poverty line, allowing them to become valuable contributors within their respective communities and Canada. By implementing a viable community matrix, which includes community organizations, the private sector and school boards, we are providing proven, comprehensive programming focused on academic achievement, physical fitness and social interaction, thereby enabling each child to achieve their full potential.

The organization has grown significantly across the country over the last five years, have impacted approximately 20,000 economically challenged children nationally.
