Due to the alarming rate of child poverty in Canada , the number of children that begin each school semester without the proper school supplies is on the rise.

Each September, KidsFest, in cooperation with School Boards and local administrators, identifies children with the greatest needs in grades 1 through 8, and provides quality backpacks filled with vital school supplies.

 

The “ In the Bag Back-to-School Supply Drive ” is an annual campaign, which allows us to collect the necessary supplies to meet the needs of thousands of children in 7 provinces across the nation through the Backpack Program.

With the support of the “ Kids Helping Kids ” program, businesses, community partners and individuals, KidsFest's 2007 Backpack Program distributed 4,000 backpacks to economically challenged students throughout Canada.
